What to Expect at a Meet & Greet

Prior to using the services of Bluebell Pet Care or any other pet care provider, it’s important to set up a meet and greet.

Why?

This is an opportunity for you to meet each other and for the pet care provider to get to know your pets. You want to be confident in anyone who is caring for your beloved pet.

It does not matter if it is a one off booking or a continuous one, both you and your pets need to meet with them to make sure it’s a good match. This is especially true if you have a nervous pet. They will need time to build up trust.

We will be exploring 3 important reasons why you must insist on a meet and greet and what you can expect in one from Bluebell Pet Care .

1. We want to get to know you and your pets

We want you to feel confident about us and our services. And the best way to do this is through a meet and greet. This is free and there is no obligation to book.

Our meet and greets last between 30 minutes to an hour depending on your needs, your pet's comfort level, and how many questions you may have. It gives your pet time to see us in their own home and get comfortable with us being around. This gives you an opportunity to see your pet interact with us and how we can make their time away from you enjoyable. We always require a meet and greet before carrying out any service. If the provider you are considering does not, this is a HUGE red flag and they should not be considered.

2. We want to make sure we are the perfect match

Prior to our meet and greet, you will have filled out our information paperwork in our welcome pack. You will have also received details on what you may need to provide, such as vaccination records. This paperwork outlines everything we need to know about your pets in order to provide them with the best care possible. Everything from their favorite treats, personality traits, and if they are working with a trainer. We want to keep them happy! This is also your opportunity to ask us any further questions about our qualifications and experience. We and any reputable pet care professional will provide certifications in their field, DBS background check, proof of insurance, and canine first aid certificate. If you are looking to board your pet (where your pet goes to their home) they must provide a license from their local council-IT'S THE LAW!

We encourage pet owners to ask as many questions as possible. We are fully transparent and will provide you with all of our credentials.

3. We want to get the routine right

Routines are extremely important to our pets. Having a dog walker or pet sitter keeps their routine almost untouched and is a huge benefit over a kennel or cattery. Kennels and catteries can be very stressful and pets sometimes come back very shaken. Some pets such as nervous or reactive dogs cannot be put into kennels as they are just too stressed to cope with it all.

From what kind of food they like to where their favourite walks are, we want to know the details! It's very important to us. But what else? Well....

Maybe your cat has 2 meals, 1 morning meal with wet food and the evening meal is dry food. Maybe your dog likes the tv on in the morning.

Maybe your cat gets let out in the afternoon to explore the outdoors.

Maybe your dog enjoys a game of fetch in the garden in the evening.

Whatever the routine, we want to know what it is and how we can stick to it. It ensures your pet is more at ease while you are away and you can be confident knowing your pet is having a really great time! The more details you can give us about their normal routine, the better.
